Flange mounted bearings, also called flange block bearings, are a combined housing and bearing that provides a ready-to-use product. The flange may be the machined or cast protruding lip of a bushing, or it may be a type of bearing housing with bolt holes in the casting to accommodate mounting. One-piece flange bearings simplify the alignment of a plain bearing pressed into a casting and prevent it from being forced out from one direction.
